Victoria Falls Bridge

Victoria Falls Bridge

The Victoria Falls Bridge was designed by the Cleveland Bridge & Engineering Company of the United Kingdom. The bridge was originally referred to as the Great Zambezi or Zambezi bridge, later becoming known as the Victoria Falls Bridge. It was constructed between 1904 and 1905 and was part of Cecil Rhodes vision of connecting a railway line from Cape Town in South-Africa to Cairo in Egypt. A vision which unfortunately never was fulfilled!

The bridge crosses the Zambezi River and connects Zambia with Zimbabwe. Total length is 198 meters, height is 128 meters. It carries a road, railway and foot way. For 130 US $ you can do apparently the 3. highest Bungee-jump in the world from the top towards the Zambezi…
